Homemade Iced Coffee

Summer is here!  I’m excited to say that cold foods are in…and basically, the only hot foods that are cooked during these three months involves the grill.  One day, browsing for cooling summer recipes, I came across this homemade iced coffee and felt perfect for those mornings that are quite warm and humid, giving you your coffee goodness with the chill that cools you on a hot morning.

The only negative at all about this, is that you NEED patience to make it.  If you are having the craving today, you will not be able to enjoy until 24 hours from now.  Like many things in life, this is definitely worth the wait.

Homemade Cold Pressed Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz coarse ground coffee
  • 6 cups water
  • Extras:  Creamer, liquor, milk, etc

Preparation:
  • Place coffee grounds and water in a large container for 24 hours.  Strain multiple times thru a fine strainer, using a cheese cloth if you have one to catch all the grounds.  Store in your fridge.
  • When serving, combine 1 part coffee to another part water and stir.  Add any extra listed above and serve over ice.  Enjoy!

Happy Patience!!!
