This memorial day weekend truly made everyone forget the last six months of snow and cold. It went straight from bitter and unrelenting cold to ‘hello summer!’ What better to ring in the wonderful weekend, but a refreshing watermelon punch…with just a touch of rum.
Watermelon Rum Punch
- 2 cups watermelon
- 4 Tbls coarsely chopped basil
- 1 cup triple sec liquor
- 1 cup orange juice
- Juice of two limes
- 1 1/2 cups white rum
- Chop up watermelon into cubes. Add triple sec and muddle into a puree or use an immersion blender or food processor.
- Once pureed, incorporate the remainder of ingredients and stir together.
- Serve in punch bowl.
